For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Lori Guerrero. I am the oldest of 6 children and therefore thought I would never have kids. After all, I helped raise 5 of them. Boy, am I glad I changed my mind. I earned a Bachelor of Interior Design from Texas Tech University and a Master of Interior Design from Florence Design Academy in Florence, Italy. I met my husband, Robert, in 1999 and have been madly in love with him ever since. Robert and I have two silly boys, John Robert and Asher who give us laughs, hugs and kisses on a daily basis. In April of 2010, I resigned from my Interior Design position at Fossil, Inc. to start my own Interior Design studio. This has blessed me with the freedom to stay at home with my 2 monkeys while continuing my passion for Interior Design.

Very cute post! I love how you called your kids “silly”. That’s exactly the word I was looking for to describe my 2 monkeys. When I was first trying to come up with the name of my blog I almost called it 2 Little Monkeys, actually. :)
Thank you Evelyn! I can’t wait to search through your blog. From first glance, it looks wonderful. I have to say both sets of our monkeys are very silly and very cute. :)
I love your blog. I also graduate from Texas Tech and now live in Kansas City working as a project manager for a commercial construction company. I have 11 month old twins and a 3 year old little boy. As busy as life gets, I always TRY to stop and read your posts.
I can’t tell you how much that means to me. Thanks for your support. I love hearing from people, so comment as much as you want! :) You must be busy! I have the up most respect for parents of twins. I honestly don’t know how you guys do it! One at a time is hard enough for me…but may be I’m a wimp (lol).
p.s. Go Raiders!

Hi Lori,
Love the experience and knowledge you bring through your posts. I have just added you in my ‘follow’ list on twitter !
Thank you so much. I just came back from my blogging hiatus to find your sweet comment. You made my day. Thanks for following!
Hi Lori,
I am also very passionate about Interior Design I have finally decided to follow my passion and am looking into schools… Florence Design Academy is the one I am most keen on. How did you find it? It seems to only have very positive feedback about it on the net ;-)
What a gorgeous family you have!
Hope you are having a fantastic day,
Nicole
Nicole, my experience at FDA was very positive. I’ll email you to give you a little more information.
Hi Lori,
Could I have a copy of the Animals and Families in pdf file please. My email address is: skychio@yahoo.com. I really like your blog and your materials.
Hi Sky! Thanks for liking my blog and materials. It means a lot to me when I hear that from readers. I’m emailing the cards over right now. I hope you like them!
Hi Lori, I love your post.. I too am going to do the Master of Interior Design at FDA.. and I have some questions that I was hoping you’d help me with:
Is it a serious, highly regarded institute? Do I need to be professional with AutoCAD & 3D max in advance or would they teach it from scratch.. ? how demanding is it? …
Thank you so much..
Hi Emmy. I’m excited for your new adventure. I’ll email you some details, but it may be in a couple of days. I’m in the middle of a big project right now. Talk to you soon.
We received the “spy bag” this morning!!!!! Thank you so much!!! The boys loved it instantly! First they tried to find an opening, and then they figured out how it works! I love how excited they get when they find something in the bag!!! “Hey mommy look there is a dinosaur!!!” (in French of course!) I’ll try to send you pictures!
Thanks again!
It makes me so happy to hear your boys love the I Spy Bag. I’d love to see pictures. Please do send some. Thanks for following up with the great news.
What a beautifull family, wonderfull kids and a fab… blog.
Thank you so much! You made my morning. :) I hope to see you around here often.
Hi Lori, thank you so much for the farm animal cards, they were such a hit with the children. I was just wondering do you have any info or material on the 3 elements, land air and water, thanks again, Brenda
Hi Brenda. I haven’t created a Land, Air, Water tray yet, but I think you’ve just inspired me. :) I’ll do it when we get back from vacation and post about it for you. p.s. I’m glad you like the farm animal cards. I love hearing that because it makes all the work worth it. :)
Hi Lori, I can’t stay and look around right now, but I’ll be back later. I just wanted to tell you I can’t get to your f/b page for some reason. Even when I click on your “like me on facebook” link, it just takes me to my wall. Maybe it’s a f/b glitch? Maybe I’m having a totaly brain cramp??
Hi Lori, I love the farm animal cards you contributed. Thank you so much for the work you put into your wonderful blog. I am a Montessori teacher…Primary-lower elementary.
Hi Mary! It’s so nice to hear from a fellow Montessori enthusiast. I’d love to hear your feedback on any of the Montessori posts. I hope you’ll come back and comment often. I sent you the cards. :)
I’m a new reader of your blog and enjoy keeping up with the educational adventures you share with your two adorable sons. My son will be 15-months on the 13th of this month. I’m learning as much as I can about the Montessori method so that I can be the best mommy-teacher that I can be. You are one of my many virtual mentors.
Hi Asia! I’m so glad you stopped by to say hello. You are already well on your way to being a fantastic mommy-teacher. I can tell by your comment that you give your sons so much love and support and that is the most important thing. I’m honored to be one of your virtual mentors and I hope you comment often. I learn just as much from my readers so I love hearing your take on things too. Best wishes in all of your endeavors. :)
Hi Lori,
Wow you have so much of energy to do all the things you have done! well I am just completing my montessori course and love the way you do montessori with your kids. Now I was just wondering have you done a course on that or is it just something you learnt by yourself? I recently created a blog for myself hope it gets somewhere.. enjoy!
Hi Lori i just sent you a post… I was wondering if I can put a link of your website on my blog?
Thanks

Hello Lori,
I’m sending this comment, as I enjoyed going through your site. I also liked the 3 part- farm family nomeclature cards. I would like to have a copy, if possible. I am presently a first year, primary guide and the children are going through nomenclature cards faster then ever. With the start of Spring, we have started animal families–(farm animals). Thank you in advance :-)
cmmandell@cox.net
Hi Cruz! I’m glad you enjoyed going through my site. I sent over the cards this morning. I hope your classroom enjoys them.
I have bad news. :( Your email doesn’t have the capacity to receive documents as large as my farm animal family cards. I received a notice that the emails 2 and 3 could not be delivered. This is the message I received: Remote host said: 552 5.2.3 DATA size exceeds maximum permitted. If you decide to open a free yahoo account at yahoo.com, let me know the new email address and I’ll resend emails 2 and 3. Sorry it didn’t work out.
hello Lori, I have been browsing homeschool blogs as we are considering homeschooling our one child. she’s not quite two years old, so we have some time, but I am trying to plan in advance, because I had previously planned to work again. I am a licensed design professional (not interior) and hope to start my own business but haven’t yet figured out how I can make that work with a child at home too. I didn’t see anything about that on your blog so far, and I understand that you may want to avoid too much personal stuff, but if you have any words of wisdom (and time! which you probably don’t have enough of right now), I would appreciate your letting me know. if not, no worries. thank you.
Christina, that’s a great idea. You’re right. I haven’t written about how I balance our school work and my professional work. Give me a little bit to gather my thoughts and I’ll write a post about it next week. Thanks for the great question. :)
