Here’s what we’re reading…

1.  Spiders (Asher, 4 yrs.)

2.  Big Machines (JR, 6 yrs.)

3.  Counting Coconuts (My pick)

Counting Coconuts is a great book to reinforce the skip counting we are doing in Classical Conversations.  It gives a visual of the monkey grouping the coconuts in piles of 2, 3, 5 and 10.  It also introduces the child to numbers in Spanish.  If you have wiggly little monkeys like mine, try jumping for every number as you count.  Start by counting by ones, then by ones in Spanish, then by twos and so on.  My little monkeys really seemed to like it.
