JR lost his first two teeth this past month! They’ve been wiggling for a while now, teasing us and hanging on by a thread. On March 23rd (the same day we found out our baby is a girl), JR was playing at the mall play area when he came over to me with his mouth gushing blood. He said he bumped his mouth while playing. I looked and saw that one of his bottom teeth was just sitting there, completely unconnected. I will admit that I called my mom with what I call, “a minor emergency.” The thing is, it wouldn’t stop bleeding and it seemed like a lot of blood. I didn’t remember mine bleeding that much. I asked her if there was something I wasn’t doing that I needed to do. Did I forget some important step in losing baby teeth?!?!?
Two days later, we were eating Dunkin Donuts and when JR finished, I saw that he was missing his other tooth. We looked around, but couldn’t find it. We finally decided he swallowed it and I would write a letter to the Tooth Fairy explaining the circumstance. Speaking of the Tooth Fairy, have you seen the glitter money that she sometimes leaves? Too bad at our house she only leaves a quarter. I guess you don’t get glitter coins. ;) She also has some other tricks up her sleeve that she never (and probably will never) share at our house that you can see here.

Those baby teeth teeth are amazing. Are you one of those parents that keep the teeth? I wrote a blog about that and then I found this crazy artist that actually makes jewelry from the teeth!!
I did keep it. It seemed wrong to throw it away for some reason. I can’t imagine making anything from them, but I do have it…tucked away somewhere where my “Tooth Fairy” believing son won’t find it. :) I saw the tooth ring on your blog. Ewwwww…
Yea — I still have all the teeth from my 15 year old daughter too. I can not bring myself to get rid of them either, and I definitely won’t be wearing any of them as jewelry!
I kept my oldest daughter’s two teeth that she’s lost so far. I wonder though– when do you stop??? I don’t see myself having a collection of 20 teeth in a jar somewhere. Kind of grosses me out for some reason. And plus with two other kids right behind my oldest- that’s 60 teeth! EEK!
Thank you for sharing. So bittersweet. He is growing up too fast!
