My Funny Valentines

{Heart-shaped Pancakes for 2 tiny Valentines}

So, I didn’t get my errands done.  I didn’t go to the library to pay for the book that has mysteriously disappeared.  I didn’t do laundry…or housework…or my Interior Design work.  What I did do, is make my little Valentines heart-shaped pancakes, helped them make Valentines for their daddy and bought ingredients for make-your-own heart-shaped pizzas and chocolate covered strawberries.  You know…the important things.  :)  JR said today is the day to show people how much you love them.  Cute…and true.

What did you make for your Valentine?  We made these…

We made these as Valentines, but change the color scheme and they would work for any occasion.  I got the idea from this post by Fun & Engaging Activities for Toddlers.  They read, “I love you from the tips of my fingers, to the tips of my toes.”

And to the best readers in the world, here’s some Valentine’s Day love for you.

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.  Much love, Lori

    Beautiful idea with the hands and feet! Love the cards. I am going to make these for grandparents day this year!

    HI Question…Do the sandpaper letters have to be on light blue and light pink paper?

    • Lori says:

      Grandparents day is an excellent occasion! The sandpaper letters you see that look pink and blue are actually supposed to be red and blue. I’m not sure why the red turns pink on most manufacturers. The red is for the consonants and the blue is for the vowels. That’s why I like the ones I recommended better. They are actually red and blue, which is more consistent with the moveable alphabet. That being said, I am not a purist and most Montessori classrooms have the pink and blue version. The decision is up to you. Neither is a wrong decision.
