Jack-O-Lanterns

I’m a little late posting this.  Today has been crazy.  It’s always like this when we are returning from a trip.  No matter how long we are gone, there is always a mountain of laundry and a filthy car to clean out.  The boys were pretty tired from their “no nap” routine they adopted on our trip.  By the time Robert came home I was ready to pass them off.  One of my friends posted something on Facebook tonight that made me laugh.  She said, “About 3pm I start disliking my children very much…”  I had to laugh because it was how I felt today and it was nice to know I wasn’t alone.  Sometimes, being a mom can be overwhelming.  Due to the stressful day, we took it a little easy and did a fun art project.  I saw something similar to this on My Montessori Journey.  All you need is a paper plate, construction paper, a glue stick and scissors.  I cut the orange construction paper into strips so the boys could practice tearing them into small pieces.  You don’t think tearing would be a difficult skill, but JR found it pretty hard.  I think as adults we take a lot of “easy” tasks for granted.
